My Soul

DEAR LIVING EARTH --- I could not love you more. You saved my life when I was dying. You gave me family and soul-connection, a place in the Cosmos of Life, a place where I belong. You took me from utter lonely despair and displacement and gave me a Home. You cradled me in your tender arms in a way my own birth-mother, father, or any other human had never done. You were my first true sense of family, my only family.

You gave me back a strong unique sense of ‘Robin’. Yet, you took from me all that was not of you, and left me only with Pure Love, left me merged with all that is you. Oh, how you have loved me, no matter my number of human failings. You have loved me without judgment, score keeping, and without any censure of any kind.

Heaven forbid, never let me enter any world where you do not exist.
I would die.

In the end, you stripped so much from me that there was no ‘Robin’ left, only You, and Deer, and Tree, and Rock, and Water, and Sky…and Love, more Love than I ever could have imagined.

I will die loving you, your name a sigh on my lips, “Earth.”

I love you, old friend.
Forever.
Robin
